Born in Lakenheath, registered Mildenhall Q2-1892 [4A:786].
1901 census...Aged 8, he was living at High Street, Lakenheath with his father- Barnabas GREENACRE [50] a farm labourer; mother Hannah (née BARKER)[47]; sister- Ethel[13]; sister Eva [10]; brother William J [3]. All were born in Lakenheath. 1911 census...Aged 19, a farm labourer, he was at Sandpits, Lakenheath with his parents and brother William, also a farm labourer. It was recorded that 4 siblings had died . His mother died in 1920 and his father in 1919, as CWGC have his brother William James as living at Station Road, Lakenheath so presumably it was William who filled in the Army forms. The family must have moved before 1920 as the pension card still has his mother at Station Road, Lakenheath. There is scope for confusion here with another local Francis Greenacre, of Kenny Hill, son of Thomas and Nellie Greenacre |

He enlisted in Bury St Edmunds. Having died of his wounds at one of the many general hospitals at Etaples, and in the absence of his Army records, it is impossible to say when or where he was wounded. |
